SEL Congresses

SEL congresses are biennial conference meetings of Lepidopterists from Europe and other parts of the world. The SEL's General Meetings are held during the SEL Congresses.


 


23rd SEL Congress & 11th Forum Herbulot 2023 in France

"Conservation, Ecology and Systematics of Lepidoptera in a changing world"


The global Covid-19 pandemic forced us to postpone the 22nd SEL Congress planned for 2021 to 2022. In order to keep our Congresses in odd years, the 23nd Congress of the Societas Europaea Lepidopterologica will be organised in 2023.

The conference, organised by Carlos Lopez Vaamonde, will take place from Monday, 25th to Friday, 29th September 2023 in the French city of Orléans situated at the Loire river, approximately 130 km south of Paris. The congress will be a joint event with the 11th Forum Herbulot, which will run in parallel. The place of the conference will be the hotel Dupanloup Le Studium located in the city centre. More information can be found in the SELepidoptera News Vol. 67 and on the conference website. We will add further information here as soon as it becomes available.

You can now pre-register for the conference and submit your abstract – both can be done on the conference website. Authors must select one of three options: oral talk, short talk (3 minutes, one slide), or poster. Authors are limited to a maximum of one abstract per category as presenting author, although an individual may be listed as a co-author on several abstracts. Please note that abstracts may be submitted in English only. Deadline for abstract submission is 15th May 2023.
